Abstract

Psilocybe cubensis, also known as San Isidro, is a widely distributed basidiomycete, generally found in tropical and subtropical climate zones. Here, we describe the first record of this psychotropic species in natural conditions for Chile, from a rural environment in the transition zone between mediterranean and temperate climate. Possible causes for this geographic expansion of the species are discussed.
